TauroLock is safe - The concentration of citrate in TauroLock (4 %) is safe and efficient according to the recommendation of the FDA, dated from April 2000,(ref.: FDA Warning Latter, April 2000). - No side-effects observed after unintented injection of TauroLock into patients. - No risks compared to highly concentrated citrate-solutions (e,g arrythmia or other side-effects due, to deficiency of calcium as tingeling in fingers, and metallic taste (ref. 9, 10). - No risks due to high concentrations of sodium (ref. 12). - No risk of unwanted bleedings due to deficiency of calcium or due to the use of heparin. To avoid unwanted bleedings, TauroLock is free of heparin. - TauroLock is bio compatible and not toxic. - No side-effects. TauroLock kills bacteria and fungi within a few hours, a timeframe available between two dialysis treatments.
